No One and Everyone
NO ONE AND EVERYONE
Dear Friends, its indeed wonderful to connect and share with people that are dear and special to us. For they can inspire us and remind us of what we can do and how we can be within our self. In recognising the worth of others we are appreciating and respecting the worth of our self as part of the whole that is our humanity. Having just spent two wonderful days with my friend Stephen – who has ordained as a Buddhist Monk – Venerable Mettaji, I offer the following reflection for your consideration.
‘No one is anyone,
Yet anyone is everyone!’
This is a seeming paradox
But not a contradiction.
So, what might, may, this mean?
No individual person is, just another person.
That every individual is both unique and important,
Both significant and special to our species.
Yet also, any individual person is a representative of us all.
That any one person is the result of the sum-total of humanity, across time and space;
That the one is the everyone; the all of us together; the one as all and the all as one!
So maybe, might it be, could it possibly be that;
This idea, appreciation, consideration could be the foundation for great Care and Compassion,
Respect and Responsibility, Inspiration and Motivation to realise our Psycho-Spiritual Potential.
