GUEST VISITOR TO RATANATAGIRI – FARRANTS HILL
We are very fortunate to welcome Venerable Mettaji, a Buddhist Monk resident at Bodhinyana Monastery in Perth, to visit us at Ratanagiri from Thursday 14th Marth to Sunday 17th March 2024.
Venerable Mettaji visited us last year and shared teachings on the importance and the practice of Metta – Loving Kindness. This year he will talk about Virtue and Composure. This will extend on the teachings and reflections that I gave last month on our Sunday Retreat Day.
DANA – your expression of monetary Generosity for Teachings and Guidance will go to support Bodhinyana Monastery and Venerable Mettaji’s travel expenses.
FOOD – unlike previous Meditation Retreat Days – please bring a plate of food to share with others on the Sunday Meditation Day Retreat. Our shared food will provide the meal for Venerable Mettaji and the group as a whole.
ZOOM LINK – it will be possible for people to connect that cannot make it along for the Thursday 14th March Meditation Group Evening and the Sunday 17th March Meditation Day.

Venerable Mettaji Bhikkhu
Is an ordained Buddhist Monk of the Theravada Forest Tradition, based at
Bodhinyana Forest Monastery Perth WA. His name – ‘Mettaji’ comes from
a monk in the time of the Buddha and translates as “Victory through
Loving Kindness”. Venerable Mettaji brings to his monastic life a wealth of
experience from his time as a layperson involved in Corporate Business
Life, to living a simple life of service as a monk in the Forest.

Time: NSW time – Arrive at 9.15am for a 9.30am start – 3.00pm finish.

Cost: Dana – your expression of Generosity for the Teachings and Guidance
In keeping with the Buddhist tradition and practice of generosity, teachings are freely given to support the wellbeing of those interested in spiritual practice. In the spirit of generosity those that have received teachings are free to offer financial support for the continuation of such opportunity.
As a guide suggestion of $50 – $100 for teachings and guidance for the Day Retreat. Please bring cash for your Dana contribution for the day and a Donations Box will be provided on registration.
Please note there is a change regarding lunch: we will not be sharing lunch so please bring your own lunch for yourself.
Bring: A plate of food to share for lunch, Notepad and pen, water bottle, warm clothes, shoes for walking meditation outside, your own Meditation Cushion if you wish (Chairs and Meditation Cushions are available here).
Parking: (see photo) Please park in the Parking Area below the house (see photo) – off Double View Road on the left hand side – entrance between the Orange Witches Hats, just before the yellow Private Road sign. Return to the road and walk up to the House (Ratanagiri sign by the Stainless Steel Letter Box) – enter on the Left where the Rock Wall is.
