VASSA MEDITATION RETREAT 2020
Every year throughout the world, Buddhist Monastics – monks, nuns and meditator yogi’s take 3 months Retreat. This is a practice that the Buddha asked monastics to do, particularly to develop and deepen their Meditation Practice and development of Insight Wisdom.
The Vassa (meaning ‘rains’) is traditionally the 3 months of the rainy season in Asia. This Tradition has continued for over 2,500 year as begins on the Full Moon in July and ends on the Full Moon in October.
The opportunity for us is to take up the Vassa Meditation Retreat as a period of daily Meditation and ongoing Mindfulness together with reading and listening to Dhamma Teachings, while still maintaining our roles and responsibilities at home.
For us here on the Tweed Coast I would like to invite a group of interested people to take up the Vassa Retreat 2020 with 4 one day Meditation Days held at Bodhi Tree Forest Monastery near Lismore, under the guidance of Venerable Pannyavaro.
Some details are:
Saturday 4th July; Saturday 1st August; Saturday 5th September; Saturday 3rd October.
Time: 9.30am – 3.30pm on each day.
Place: Bodhi Tree Forest Monastery & Retreat Centre, 78 Bentley Road, Tullera (via Lismore) NSW Australia.
Teacher: Venerable Pannyavaro
Meditation: Satipatthana Vipassana – Mindfulness for Insight Practice.
Cost: Dana – your considered expression of Generosity.
Food: Bring your own packed lunch for the day.
Those of you that are interested need to make a commitment both to attend all 4 sessions and also to maintain your ongoing home based practice.
