New Year 2018
Dear Friends
A ‘Mindful’ and ‘Kind-ful’ welcome to our New Year of 2018.
I do hope and trust that the last year ended well for you, with some Mindful Reflection on the lessons and learnings from a year of life well spent.
I also hope that what ever worth and wealth of understanding and wisdom you have gained from the last year, that you are able to use it well in our New Year, so that it becomes an even better year than the last.
In the continued context of living our life consciously, with ‘Mindfulness and Kindful-ness’, it can be helpful to take some time to consider how we would like to best make use of our year with regards to our precious Time and Energy.
This can be much more than some ‘New Years Resolutions’ made a few minutes after midnight on the First of January.
A year is a great portion of time to develop some really helpful habits, skilful strengths and powerful practices.
In the context of our Mindfulness and Wisdom practice – Dhamma Practice, take some time to think about what you might like to look into, develop or even maintain.
This might be developing and deepening your Mindfulness of Breathing for Calm Meditation; focusing on wisdom through Insight Meditation; generating warmth of heart through Metta – Kindness Meditation.
Making a ‘commit to sit’ – daily practice can be really helpful. Connecting with a weekly Meditation Group can be a great support. Attending some Meditation Retreats can create inspiration and motivation.
Also there are many great books, pod casts and web sites that can be used as support for our Dhamma Practice.
It has been said that: “For those that protect the Dhamma, the Dhamma protects them!”
Appreciating that Dhamma is the word for Truth, Reality Teachings; if we do protect and preserve these, then this practice will also nourish and nurture, support and strengthen our well-being.
I wish you all a wonderful 2018 and hope to connect with you in some way during this year.
Kind Regards
John B.
