The Bodhi Tree – Any Tree and All Trees
Easter Personal Retreat: BODHI TREE FOREST MONASTERY – SATIPATTHANA VIPASSANA MEDITATION CENTRE
Dear Friends
This Easter 2019 I took the opportunity to take a Personal Retreat at Bodhi Tree Forest Monastery and Satipattana- Vipassana Meditation Centre.
I saw this time for Personal Meditation Retreat as a both a gift to myself and to all those that I come into contact with; appreciating that if I have greater Calm, Clarity and Insightful Wisdom, this is shared with others.
On Retreat, I delighted in this beautiful retreat environment especially because of the wonderful forest of trees, particularly the many sacred Bodhi Trees – the Buddha’s Tree of Enlightenment. This inspired my verse below.
Also enjoy the links about Tree/ Forest Bathing – so important for Mind – Heart and Body.

THE BODHI TREE – ANY TREE AND ALL TREES.
The leaf point perfectly pierced,
The light blue autumn morning sky.
The dew-covered leaf- blades glistened,
In the new day’s dawning light.
The leaf stem embraced,
Its structured straddle between leaf and twig.
The tiny twig trembled,
In the warming breeze, bouncing with joy.
The branch swayed gently,
Nurturing its collective clutch of branch and leaves.
The tree limb vibrated with life,
Supporting its surrounding verdant.
The tree fork fused to its twin,
Stood steady in its conjoined coupling.
The tree trunk stretched,
From root to fork, a column of natural strength.
The tap root penetrated,
Ever onwards into Mother Earths rich resources.
The side roots left and right,
Spread ever outwards creating cautions balance.
The root ball ever growing,
Seeking succour to support its sky bound wooded growth.
The tree loved its life,
As life so much loved the tree.
A great green joy to creatures one and all;
A home, a help, a health, a healing.
Our humanity needs trees for life and for living;
And the trees need humanity for their protection and preservation.
A tree protected and cared for,
Is a friend for life; maybe out living us and certainly out growing us!
