Welcome to Winter 2022
Dear Friends
Welcome to Winter 2022.
Another Season arrives into our Life, which also means that another ‘Season of our Lives’ has gone.
Here in the Southern Hemisphere, Winter is the middle Season of the year, beginning according the calendar on June 1st.
We actually experience five Seasons in our year!
The year begins in Summer, then into Autumn, then Winter, then Spring and then back into Summer to end the year.
The mid-point of the year can become a good time to pause and reflect upon the months that have passed.
What have we experienced?
How did we deal with those things?
How might have we dealt with those things better, now seeing them from hind sight?
What do we hope to do, experience, learn and fulfill with the next half of the year?
Whilst the last couple of years have been very different and challenging in many ways; there is great potential for learning from what has been if we mindfully reflect, pause and ponder.
Winter 2022, sees my Meditation Group and Meditation Day Retreats returning after a break of over 2 years.
On Sunday 22nd May we connected and shared a Half Day Meditation Retreat at Ratanagiri – Farrants Hill.
Whilst it was a wet rainy day, we had a good number of participants. The rain even paused just at the right time for us to have a Mindful Walk – to stretch our legs down the road!
NEXT HALF DAY RETREAT AT RATANAGIRI – JUNE 2022
Our next Half Day Retreat will be on Sunday 19th June, 9.30 – 1.00pm.
Please let us know if you might like to Register for a place?
WEEKLY DROP-IN MEDITATION GROUP RESUMED – THURSDAY EVENINGS
On Thursday just passed our Weekly Drop-In Meditation Group resumed.
It was wonderful to connect again with so many people that I have not seen for 2 years. With the ongoing weekly Thursday Evening Meditation Group (6.30 – 7.30pm) and the monthly Half Day or Full Day Retreats, I look forward to seeing you again, especially those that were not able to make the sessions that we just had last week.
Winter can be a wonderful time to slow down and spend more time in Meditation, Reflection and maintaining ongoing Mindfulness.

I share with you my new poem about Winter.
WINTER WEAVED HER WAY
Winter weaved her way into the day;
We knew that for three months;
She would be here to stay.
She was however slow to appear;
Not wanting to dispel the warmth;
That we all find dear.
Winter spread her cool cloak across the land;
From mountains to valleys, forests,
Ocean, beach and desert sand.
Animals slowed, becoming quiet;
Living on their collected resource;
Of stored and sustained diet.
The sky became pale, the horizon white;
The sun became soft;
Expressing a gentle soothing light.
Birds, animals and insects that usually abound;
Moved into hibernation;
In trees and underground.
A period for retreat and inner reflection;
Aware of the passing of time;
Through Mindfulness and Meditation.
